This is our story...
Way back in 1987 we fell passionately in love. We were married in June of 1988, had our first daughter, Kayla, in January of 1990, and our youngest daughter, Ariel, in May of 1991. Jami graduated from Loma Linda University Occupational Therapy school in 1990, and worked as an Occupational Therapist while I was a stay-at-home-mom until the girls went to school.
In 1995 we were trained as facilitators and coaches for Life Skills International, a Domestic Violence program. Directing a center for court-mandated domestic violence offenders and their partners created a powerful awakening for us. We began facilitating workshops, and helping individuals and couples at this time, and realized how much more powerful it was to help people on a deeper level instead of just putting band-aids on gushing heart-wounds.
In 1998, our marriage almost fell apart because of infidelity, which felt like such an immense failure since we had been helping other couples restore their broken relationships for three years. We knew we had to get the help we needed personally and together to begin to really live a life of authenticity, vulnerability and healing.
Jami checked himself into a rehab facility to figure out what deep-seeded issues were causing him to feel unworthy of love, and creating a seemingly unquenchable desire for approval. He discovered so much more: how to love himself, how to move through painful feelings instead
of stuffing them, how to be present, and how to feel for the first time ever.
While Jami was in this intense discovery mode, I was diving in to my own healing experience, and discovering some of the very same things as Jami was in rehab. Attending Family Week at the facility following 17 intensive days, we began to pull together the fragments of our lives and hearts with the help of an incredible, graceful mentor.
In 2001, Marla finished her university degree in Family Counseling, and Jami and Marla began their Relationship and Forgiveness Coaching business that has turned into a full-time career. In 2009 Jami and Marla Keller became Coach Certified through Invite Professional Coach Training, and in 2011 turned Passion Provokers into a full-time job.
